| 10.00 | Departure of the ship for a cruise on the Amsterdam IJ, through the Oranje Locks, across the Markermeer (formerly known as the Zuiderzee) to Batavialand. Meanwhile, enjoy two freshly baked sandwiches with your choice of toppings. You will sail past landmarks such as Vuurtoreneiland, Forteiland Pampus, and the “Horse of Marken”. The bar is open for drinks. |

All hands on deck: Set sail on the authentic seagoing ship Stortemelk and discover the wonders of Batavialand.
You’ll arrive at Batavialand (Lelystad) around 13:00pm, where the captivating story of the Netherlands and its relationship with water comes to life. Batavialand comprises a museum, a shipyard, and a replica of the VOC ship Batavia.
The museum offers a lot of activities suitable for all ages. You can safely dock an IJsselkogge at the port, construct dikes, and operate locks in the water theater. At the shipyard, you’ll encounter a variety of traditional crafts, including a blacksmith shop, sail maker, and rigging workshop where you can even make your own skipping rope!
Don’t miss the stunning replica VOC ship, the Batavia, at the wharf. Step on board and immerse yourself in the stories of the 17th century. Feel what it was like to be a sailor spending days on the stuffy lower deck, or experience the luxury of a captain in the captain’s cabin complete with its own “toilet.” In short, Batavialand offers a lot of activities for everyone to enjoy!
After the visit to Batavialand, you will be transported back to Amsterdam in a historic city bus from the NZH Transport Museum. Come aboard and experience a mini vacation in the Netherlands this summer!
The journey is also offered in reverse (see the program above), where you first take the bus to Batavialand and then return by boat to Amsterdam.
