It’s so much fun to view the typical Dutch landscape from the water! During this outing, you will board at the Hembrugterrein (a historic industrial site in Zaandam), from where the boat tour begins. You’ll sail on the Zaan River which winds its way through the picturesque landscape and offers stunning views of traditional Dutch houses. Along the way, you’ll also pass by important industrial landmarks, like the famous Verkade factory. Eventually, you’ll arrive at the iconic windmills of Zaanse Schans, providing a beautiful Dutch sight. Take a stroll around the mills, and explore the various crafts and museums. The scent of freshly baked cookies at the bakery museum and the traditional wooden clogs at the clog maker are a treat for the senses. You can even visit the very first Albert Heijn store. And the great thing about the Stortemelk is that you have two (heated) indoor lounges, so colleagues who prefer not to dance can simply relax with a drink (and maybe play a game) in the other lounge.

Where can we embark for our company outing?

In Amsterdam, the default embarkation location is at Pier 14 behind Central Station. In Zaandam, you can board at the Hembrugterrein, Burchtkade or at the pier of the Zaantheater. Contact us if you wish to embark at a different location. We have organized team-building activities from Enkhuizen, Harlingen, Hoorn, IJmuiden, Muiden, Almere, Huizen, and Lelystad.

Can we also have something to eat during our company outing?

Of course, that’s possible! We work together with several caterers, so almost anything is possible. Like a BBQ on the way back from Fort Island Pampus or a delicious lunch during the ‘Discover the IJ’ outing. Let us know your wishes and we will make a proposal. our company outing?

What happens if the weather is bad?

No worries! Our ship has covered and (heated) lounges, so there’s plenty of indoor space for large groups.

How many people can join in?

We accommodate groups of a minimum of 75 and a maximum of 350 guests. However, for certain on-board group activities (such as the casino and the pubquiz) the maximum number of participants is 130.

Where will we actually be sailing during our boat outing?

Our ship is too large for the Amsterdam canals. That’s why we cruise via the Amsterdam IJ river, through the Oranjesluizen, and out onto the wide-open Markermeer. Along the way, you’ll pass landmarks such as Fort island Pampus, ‘Vuurtoren’-island, and Muiderslot Castle.

Prefer an alternative route? That’s possible too. We’ve also sailed through the locks at IJmuiden, to the historic town of Hoorn, or for example towards Spakenburg. Let us know your wishes and we’ll see what’s possible.

Can we book a team outing all year around?

Yes, because we sail all year round! The ship is covered and heated so we also organize the coziest company outings on board in winter. Only some destinations are not open all year round, such as Fort island Pampus (open from Easter to November).

What does the ship Stortemelk look like?

Can we decorate the boat for our team outing?

Yes, that’s possible. Although our ship is already attractively decorated, you’re welcome to add some additional decorations if you wish. In that case, it’s best to coordinate with us in advance about when, where, and how this can be done.
